BMW iDrive 1st gen hidden menu gives you access to diagnostic tests of MOST bus and some of the multimedia settings.
1st gen. iDrive system was installed in BMW 7-Series cars (E65, E66, E67, E68). Be careful and don’t change any options unless you’re sure what your doing.
Preparation
Please make sure that you have iDrive 1st generation system in your BMW car. This system is exclusive to BMW 7-Series (E65, E66, E67, E68). Other BMW cars use systems like M-ASK, CCC, CIC, CIC High.

iDrive 1st gen hidden menu
- Turn the ignition on and wait for the iDrive system to start.
- Press and hold control knob for 10 seconds.
- Turn the knob 3 clicks right (clockwise).
- Turn the knob 3 clicks left (counter-clockwise).
- Turn the knob 1 click right.
- Turn the knob 1 click left.
- Turn the knob 1 click right.
- Press the control knob.
- Hidden menu should appear on the screen.
Use control knob to navigate through the menu.
Be careful and don’t make any changes unless you’re 100% sure about effects.
Can accessing these features allow you to code a replacement CD Head unit to the car and if so how does one do it please ?
What is the checks I need to make for idrive notification “roof storage tray” on my E93 my boot is empty but the roof won’t engage it’s sometimes opens but now won’t

i have BMW X1 , 2014 , in Egypt … it is assemble in Egypt as BMW has an assembly factory for this model . it seems they do not use VIN system , because i cannot find the VIN written on the nameplate of the car
can i unlock video in the motion ? Also , i cannot turn the internet on the care screen , should sim card build in the car or can i do it via my Iphone ?
