VW reset service reminder in Passat B5, Golf MK4, Bora MK4 with a simple button combination. If you see IN01, INSP, OIL or OEL message on the odometer display, it’s time to change oil & filters and inspect safety systems like brakes, rubber joints, tires. After doing so you can reset this reminder without any diagnostic tools.

VW reset service reminder – OIL & OEL

1. Press and button on the right side of instrument cluster.
2. Turn the ignition on.
3. Release the button. You should see OEL or OIL message on the odometer or SERVICE NOW! on DIS display.
4. Press the button on the left side of instrument. Odometer should show – – – message.
   If your instrument cluster is equipped with digital clock, turn the left button clockwise instead of pressing it.
5. Turn the key to OFF position.

VW reset service reminder – IN01 & INSP

1. Press and button on the right side of instrument cluster.
2. Turn the ignition on.
3. Release the button. You should see OEL or OIL message on the odometer.
4. Again the button on the right side of instrument cluster. Display will change to IN01 or INSP.
5. Press the button on the left side of instrument. Odometer should show – – – message.
   If your instrument cluster is equipped with digital clock, turn the left button clockwise instead of pressing it.
6. Turn the key to OFF position.
